Your first step into a career in diving: Become a Divemaster
|
The Divemaster training course is perhaps the first diving course in which you really push yourself to your limits – not because the exercises are particularly difficult, but because the demands placed on you are completely new. It is no longer just about you having an enjoyable dive, but about ensuring that other divers have a safe and enjoyable experience. You will learn to recognise potential problems early on and prevent them from arising in the first place, but you will also be there to help others in the water.
As a Divemaster, you are the first point of contact for other divers, you assist diving instructors with their courses and you are jointly responsible for the smooth running of the dives. You will learn to demonstrate skills to a high standard, understand course procedures and know when and how you are needed as an assistant. In addition, you will receive solid theoretical training: as a professional, you should be able to answer any question that arises while diving – whether it's about equipment, planning or the physiological effects of diving. We want you to take the time you need for this step: at least two weeks, but longer is welcome, so you can gain real experience. The more time you invest, the more routine you will gain – and that is what makes a good Divemaster in the end. Two ways to become a Divemaster Are you already an experienced diver and have you met all the requirements? Then you can simply book the Divemaster course with us. You will receive the SSI Digital Kit, complete the theory (Science of Diving) and practical training (Dive Guide) and then receive your certification. You can take as much time as you want – we recommend at least two weeks – and dive with us, help out and gain real professional experience. Are you just starting out but already know that you want to become a professional? Then our Zero to Hero package is perfect for you: you complete all courses from OWD to Divemaster with us, including all Digital Kits (Navigation, Night, Deep, React Right, Stress & Rescue, Science of Diving). You can stay as long as you like to gain experience and develop step by step into a professional. If you want to do further specialities later, you only pay for the respective SSI Digital Kit – participation in the course is then free of charge. Flexible participation and unlimited diving Our motto is: once you become part of the Punkfish crew, you can dive as much as you want to gain experience. There are just a few small rules: You are on standby, which means you can join all courses and dives as long as there is a place available (this is usually not a problem). We would be delighted if you got involved and helped out as a responsible buddy. This way, you will grow into your role as a professional step by step – not only in the course lessons, but also in real diving situations. And if you find that you really enjoy accompanying others on their underwater adventures, you can soon think about the next step and prepare for the diving instructor course. |
