A team of highly motivated divers
Angela Schreiter
Angela knew what she wanted to do after her very first try dive: become a diving instructor. She managed to do this in a roundabout way, and not long after, she had the next plan: to take over Punkfish.
After taking on more and more tasks in recent years, she is the centre manager from 2025 onwards and is responsible for the entire (scuba) diving routine. |
Veronika Sievers
She has been diving since 1999 with ever-growing enthusiasm for everything that is wet and deep – from the Caribbean and the Mexican cenotes to dark quarry ponds. Since 2007, she has worked on four of the seven islands in the Canaries. La Palma is and remains the most beautiful, so in the end she had to stay there for a long time.
Vero is only on the island for about half the year and otherwise she is on the road a lot, concentrating on instructor training, technical diving and diving theory. The full range of diving knowledge is available on her website punkfish-academy.com. |
Dani Gonzalez
Dani learned to dive with us many years ago, and then embarked on a professional career a few years ago. After becoming a divemaster at Isla Bonita, where he still works from time to time, he became an instructor with us. He sometimes works with us and sometimes with our neighbours, so you can often meet him at the dive site.

Jens Lindner
Our base photographer and new diving instructor has been with the Punkfishen since his first introductory dive: As Angela's first student, who is now travelling through Europe with little Jens, he couldn't help but stay here. He has since given up his job at an insurance company because diving is simply more cool - but he is still available as a professional photographer.

Werner Fornika
Werner is the one who makes sure our equipment is working. He is around from time to time to repair what needs to be repaired, but not just that - he is a fantastic guide and helps us when we get too busy.
Apart from diving, he does amazing fotos. You find them at Instagram - #werfotografiert. |
Dominik Elsässer
With all this telescopes on La Palma, a Dive Center should have an astrophysicist. We found Dominik (or he found us), trained him until he became a fantastic instructor - and when he can't be on La Palma, he does the best online Training and dives in the lakes in Germany.
In real life, he teaches physics at Dortmund University and forms part of the group of the MAGIC Teleskopes - the ones with all this mirrors. |

We are more!
At Punkfish, you will not only meet the people who work here all year round, but also those who are currently training to become diving instructors or simply helping out.
If you would like to be part of this, please get in touch!

Simon
Simon started diving in dark, cold Alpine lakes back in 2010. Once life intervened, there was an 11-year surface interval and a move to Wales in the meantime. He resumed diving in dark, cold waters there in 2023 and is now a divemaster and aspiring tec diver.
He will be back for his Instructor Course in october :-) |
Caro
Caro has long dreamed of a life by and in the sea – and here she is taking a huge first step towards her goal: she will be doing her Divemaster here until March 2025.
And who knows, the journey might not be over then either. We would all be delighted to see her here again and again after that. |
Mar
Mar lives on La Palma and discovered diving for herself a few years ago. In addition to her actual job as a teacher, she is now on her way to becoming a diving instructor and will continue to step in at Isla Bonita and Punkfish – so you will see more of her.

John
John works remotely and chose La Palma as a quiet place to do his Divemaster qualification alongside his day job. Now he's done it, he'll do a bit of guiding before the journey continues – let's see when he'll be back here again.
